Angioma Alliance supports the community of health professionals and researchers in many ways:
- Angioma Alliance has created its own DNA& Tissue Bank to help our researchers find better treatments and possible cures for this illness. Tissue is donated from cavernous angiomas that are removed surgically. DNA is extracted from blood donations. Because this biobank held by Angioma Alliance, many researchers at many labs are able to use the donations of our members. A single individual’s DNA or tissue may become part of research that is happening in labs across the US, and eventually, the world.
- We sponsor an annual Cerebral Cavernous Malformations Scientific Meeting that brings together many of the key players in the CCM research field to discuss their latest research in an open, friendly, and relatively informal atmosphere. This workshop is not open to the public.
- We have developed a patient registry. This communication tool provides an avenue to researchers to advertise studies that are seeking participants for ongoing research. If you would like your laboratory added to the list, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
